Overcome Compulsive Masturbation

Begin feeling whole again. You can escape the addiction of compulsive masturbation and find peace by using tools and techniques that really work.

A compulsive behavior can be defined as any conduct which a person has extreme difficulty overcoming. Compulsively masturbating, then, is engaging in habitual masturbation despite great effort not to. Sometimes this behavior can be exhibited in the absence of sexual feeling.

Compulsive masturbation is an addiction. Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) describes an addiction this way: “The essence of all addiction is the addicts' experience of powerlessness over a compulsive behavior, resulting in their lives becoming unmanageable.”

Healthy or harmful?

Just about anything taken to an extreme can be harmful. But what about “moderate” or non compulsive masturbation? Plenty of evidence suggests that you are better off avoiding it.

Masturbation is not physically or biologically necessary. Some argue that it’s a natural way to relieve stress or reduce tension. However, there are much more positive ways, such as engaging in vigorous activity, or reading a good book.

There is good argument that masturbation is not a part of wholesome, healthy sexuality. This explains why most people trying to overcome this addiction describe it as disgusting, dirty, shameful or sinful.

It is plain to see that men and women are built for sexual union. And, in the confines of loving, enduring marital relationships, the coming together of man and wife brings out the best in both. The loving sacrifice of one for the other builds mutual loyalty and trust.

When a husband or wife has a one-sided relationship, aimed solely to satisfy the urges of himself or herself, it tends to tear down a relationship. It moves toward mistrust and unfaithfulness.

Simply giving in to your urges is a character weakness. Whereas, self-control and holding your affections to be expressed in a loving relationship, demonstrates strength of character.

Recorded history shows that moral decline marked the end of great empires. “Giving in” is nothing more than the “giving up” of what could be. It’s the “giving up” of character and integrity.

Ending the addiction
